My Entrepreneurship Story

An entrepreneurial time in my life was about 3 years ago. During the Dre Beats headphones boom, I found headphones that looked similar on eBay but sounded nice at a fraction of the cost. When I first started wearing them, everyone would ask if they were Beats headphones. I said no but would let people listen to the sound quality and they would ask where I purchased them. I began purchasing more and more and selling them for a small profit for about 3 months. Although it did not last long and I did not become wealthy, it was a very good entrepreneurial experience.

I enrolled into ENT 3003 because I thought it would give me the tools and knowledge needed to start a business which is what I was hoping to gain from this course. After the first lecture, I discovered this is not the class for that but I am one to roll with the punches and it still seems interesting especially the way it will be structured and taught. Furthermore, I am confidant I can still use the experience and tools this class does provide in the business world.

  1. Hey Brian,
It is neat how you created your own small business based off of something that most people are really interested in. I have heard of several other people doing something similar to what you did to make a profit. I actually was not sure what to expect from the class, but I also thought it was a class related to how to start businesses as while as learning techniques as to how they function.

  2. That is a good gateway into entrepreneurship. The way you sold your type of headphone is good sales experience. That experience can open up doors to success in other areas.

  3. Hey Brian! That's a great business-minded way of thinking! I never would've thought to re-sell headphones but I'm glad it turned out to be a success. There were several times I sold candy at school and it's pretty interesting to see how you can make a profit from something you never thought of selling.
